I came across this grocery / restaurant. I know it was fairly new so I wanted to give it a try, saw Tacos Al Pastor and was all I don't mind if I do.
So I ordered 4 tacos 2 American style with sour cream and lettuce and 2 Mexican with cilantro and onions only. I also ordered a chimichanga cuz why not . The tacos were a lot better then I've had in a while, but the true star of the show was the Chimi. Whoa buddy! Deadpool would be proud. If you are a fan of Mexican fare, and you looking for a change from pizza, Chinese, and burgers. Try this spot, you won't be disappointed. read less

This is a quaint neighborhood spot that isn't just a "grocery store"/market. They offer produce, imported soft drinks and beers from Mexico as well as pastry items (i.e. conchas), ice creams and candies. There's a few tables dressed up with table clothes so you can seat and eat in. They have a full kitchen with authentic Mexican cuisine that will NOT disappoint. Our favorite go to we have had every week for the past couple of weeks is the cecina tacos. We don't ruin it with lettuce or tomato or cheese, we stick with the authentic cilantro and onion toppings. We love the grilled cebollas they put on the side. Their salsa verde is the best I've had! So far, locally, best Mexican we've had, hands down. The people there are also pretty awesome. They're helpful and always a pleasure when we're in there or ordering on the telephone.
Aguilar's has become our favorite neighborhood spot! read less

The place is spotless...well lit and quite a nice place to wait for food or shop. The family who runs the place is helpful - and will do their best to do right by you. I have been here for lunch/dinner five times now and I agree the tacos are great and my favorite is the Enchilladas Verde (green sauce enchilladas). The avocado is fresh (and ripe) - if you can get it with your dinner (included on some entrees but not all) go for it. As a life-long resident of the Morris Park area, it is nice to see something different in the neighborhood. For $10 you will get a lot of food that is home made, fresh and quite tasty...the menu is in English as well as Spanish so don't be intimidated - much better value than the pizza or Chinese places along Morris Park. Having eaten Mexican in Mexico and all the US western states (and even at the highly recommended places in the South Bronx) - this place is right up there with the "best." read less

Wonderful, very well stocked grocery store in the front and a small grill in the back. They make some of the best tacos I have ever had - incredibly fresh ingredients, really flavorful, always consistent. We order there a lot ... I mean a lot! Usually, if we grab groceries, the owners ask if will be getting our usual tacos and burrito as well!
Do yourself a favor, if you are in the area, stop buy and grab some food and groceries. You wont be disappointed! read less

The spiced pork and the chorizo burrito's were delicious different, and huge. The chorizo quesadilla was the best we've ever had. Rice pudding topped the meal. And...you'v got it! It was Delicious with a capital D!!!!
We bought some homemade nachos and guacamole to have with wine later in the night, but ]we couldn't resist tasting them. Bad move! They was so delicious we ate half of them. Plus, rice pudding! I hate to keep saying the same thing over and over but that, too, made our taste buds sit up, and take notice!
We did take-out today---we were actually going for Italian food when I spotted their store--- but next time going there will not be an accident.. But we will be using their delivery service from now on. Are we hooked on Aguilars????You bet we are! .
Sincerely, Pat O'Hanlon read less

The food here is absolutely delicious, authentic Mexican favorites - made fresh with the vegetables and products they sell in the store. This place is truly a diamond in the rough. Their burritos are amazing! This place deserves a lot more credit than just a grocery store. I'm here now waiting for my delicious steak burrito. read less

To be honest I was ignoring this place cause I thought it was not good but one day I just said let me try it and it was so delicious! Best spot if you want authentic Mexican food.
Location: It is located in Morris Park, outside it looks like a grocery store but when you go in there is a small cashier that you can order the food. Also the grocery store has a lot of Mexican items that you can buy.
Service: The server was nice, she gave me good recommendations.
Food: All that I ordered was delicious, we finished it in one sitting because everything was delicious. PORK TACOS: omg the servings is huge and everything on it is fresh. I loved the green sauce to put on it. It was by far the best tacos I ate here in NYC. GUACAMOLE and CHIPS: another favorite! The guac is very fresh, they just made it when you order. The chips are crunchy too unlike other places that chips are already soft.
Price rating: 6/10, it was not that bad for the price. All foods are good!
Will definitely come back here cause I love authentic Mexican food! I will try next time the tostadas and hard tacos! read less

My family and I have been eating there at least once a week for the past year since I discovered this little gem and we still get excited when the plates comes to the table. My favorite is their tacos. Plump, juicy and loaded! The homemade salsas are perfect! The place has 4 small tables and a little bar with a handful of stools. It's predominantly a grocery store that sells Mexican foods, homemade Mexican beverages and some fresh produce. It's owned and run by a husband and wife who are so friendly and always greet you with a welcoming smile. The store is cozy, always super clean and has a welcoming feel to it. Service is lightning fast! You can tell the quality of the ingredients is superior and the food is consistently delicious. I ordered some of their chorizo to cook for a food event at work. Some of the cleanest, freshest sausage I've ever cooked. The whole tray disappeared in no time! We absolutely love Aguilar's! Try it out.. you won't be disappointed. read less
